Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading day to day operations of an assembly and distribution center to achieve product assembly and business objectives. Support continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction. Supervises the production team. Provides leadership to supervision and employees and ensures they have the proper tools to perform their job safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducts multiple daily production walks to optimize production flow and efficiencies. May change work flow priorities as needed and works to resolve any problems that may occur.
- Utilizes ERP system to plan and manage assembly operations.
- Participates in daily and weekly forecast calls to coordinate production with demand needs in order to meet customers’ shipment deadlines.
- Reviews and updates Key Performance Indicators KPIs (Daily, Weekly and Monthly) and works with Production Manager to ensure facility is on track to meet overall departmental objectives.
- Conducts Behavior-Based Safety observations daily and works with employees to ensure they are performing their job in a safe manner.
- Works with leadership team to establish and track metrics, reporting results as appropriate.
- Support and drive departmental performance measures, including utilization of visual control measures and provide regular progress reports to management.
- Meets regularly with assembly and warehouse teams to discuss product demand, production schedules, inventory needs and changes in the schedule that are necessary.
- Assist in the determination of plant safety procedures. Responsible for enforcement of safety procedures/program. Ensure all job-related accidents or injuries are reported and documented by those responsible, and take appropriate corrective action in an expeditious manner.
- Engages the team in identifying and implementing continuous improvement projects in the areas of safety, quality, cost, productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Ensures employees are properly trained in all aspects of their jobs to include safety, quality and production. Identifies training gaps and develops training plans.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Five (5) years supervisory experience in assembly of Stock Kitchen Cabinets (mass production) is a must.
- Management experience in operations, maintenance, engineering and/or process improvement roles including managing teams of people.
- Knowledge of cabinet assembly, kit making, manufacturing process flow and wood based product quality standards.
- Knowledge of current OSHA requirements.
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge and strong background in material flow and bottleneck removal principles.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task various and conflicting responsibilities.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
